Apartments in Central Eilat: Where to Stay on Vacation? An Area Guide
In short: Apartments in central Eilat, in the hotel area near the North Beach, are the convenient choice for most vacations. City Apartments Eilat has nine apartments behind the Club Hotel, a 5 to 10 minute walk from the promenade, for 2 to 5 guests. The south suits snorkeling, and the residential neighborhoods suit those who arrive with a car.
You've arrived in Eilat. The kids want the beach and ice cream, and you don't want to hunt for parking every time you head out. That's the moment when choosing the right area changes your whole vacation.
Which areas are best for renting vacation apartments in Eilat?
There are three main areas: the hotel area near the North Beach, the southern beach near the coral reserve, and the residential neighborhoods. For most travelers the hotel area fits best, because everything is within walking distance. People choose the south for the sea, and the neighborhoods for the quiet, but there you almost always need a car.
The hotel area and the North Beach
This is the tourist heart of the city. From here you can walk to the promenade, the North Beach, restaurants and the mall by the water. You can leave the car parked and not touch it for a few days.
The downside: during holidays and school vacations the area is busy and full of life. If you want total silence you'll notice it, but during quiet hours (10 PM to 7 AM) the side streets are usually calm.
The southern beach and the coral reserve
The southern part of the city is close to the Coral Beach Nature Reserve, a great spot for snorkeling over the reef. It suits those who come mainly for the sea and the reef.
On the other hand, it's farther from the promenade, and evenings call for a drive or a taxi. If it's your first time snorkeling, read our beginner's guide to snorkeling in Eilat.
Residential neighborhoods
The neighborhoods usually offer lower prices and quiet. But they are far from the promenade and the beach, so you almost always need a car for every outing. They suit those who arrive by car and don't plan to explore on foot.

Comparison: which area suits whom
The central hotel area: walk to the promenade, the beach and restaurants. Suits families, couples and anyone who doesn't want a car.
The southern beach: close to the coral reserve and snorkeling. Suits sea lovers who arrive with a car.
Residential neighborhoods: quiet and distance from the tourist bustle. Suits those with a car who don't need the promenade at their door.
Local tip: Before you book, check the real walking time from the apartment to the promenade on Google Maps. "Close to the sea" can mean 5 minutes or 25.
Apartments in Eilat near the promenade: what it means in practice
When a listing says "near the promenade," look for a number. Apartments in Eilat near the promenade should mean a 5 to 10 minute walk, not a drive. That's close enough to walk to dinner and come back to a quiet apartment.
Most people looking for Eilat vacation apartments want exactly this: walking distance to the fun, and a separate home with a kitchenette. You'll find more on the difference from a hotel in vacation apartment or hotel in Eilat, and on the location in vacation apartments in Eilat near the promenade.

You can combine: sleep in the center and visit the south
You don't have to pick one side. You can stay in the center, walk to the promenade in the evening, and set aside a day or two for snorkeling in the south. That way you get both convenience and a real reef.
General information about the city is on the Eilat tourism website. And before you choose your dates, it's worth checking the weather forecast, especially in summer.
